The Absolute is a city built by machines. The original idea emerged as a metaphor for my inner world – or rather, for a closed part of it. It is a labyrinth of thoughts where different centers are interconnected by communication threads. This place evokes a feeling of entrapment, of having no escape. The project The Absolute consists of several parts, and one of them is Zone S_018.
At first glance, it seems there is always a way out, always some possibility. Yet this feeling is deceptive. The design of the objects reflects this aspect. They resemble power substations or vast data centers. Their form disregards human scale and human needs. The entire structure was designed to appear inhospitable and closed. The buildings carry an industrial character – protective shells that conceal and guard the inner core.
